Weber County jury returns $500,000 for Rich County woman

A Weber County Jury returned a $500,000 verdict in favor of Rich County resident Amelia “Millie” Bradshaw in the Second District Court in Ogden, Utah. Ms. Bradshaw was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 89 in South Ogden, Utah when her stopped Toyota Highlander was rear-ended by a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed.

Ms. Bradshaw retained Peck Baxter to represent her after her original lawyer was unable to obtain an adequate settlement offer from the at-fault driver’s insurance company. Throughout the litigation with Peck Baxter members Brandon J. Baxter and Matthew David Lorz, the insurance company continually refused to tender its policy limits to Ms. Bradshaw, who suffered life-altering injuries in the crash. At the end of a four-day trial, the jury issued a verdict of $500,000 in favor of Ms. Bradshaw. The resulting $505,536.64 judgment, which was far higher than the insurance company’s policy limits, has been paid by the insurance company.
