Loren K. Peck, Partner


 

Loren graduated summa cum laude from Utah State University and went on to study at Washington & Lee University School of Law in Virginia, where he published writings on complex injury litigation and was awarded the A.H. McLeod-Ross Malone Oral Advocacy Award. Loren practices in the areas of personal injury, civil rights, landlord-tenant and contract litigation.

Loren also practices employment law as an advocate for employees harmed by a failure to pay wages and overtime, harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination. In addition, Loren defends public employees and educators against allegations of misconduct as a referral attorney for the UEA (Utah Education Association), Utah’s largest public education employees’ union.

Loren married Jamie Rigby in 2011, and they have three children: Lydia, Allison, and Hudson.

Significant Cases

JURY RETURNS EXCESS VERDICT OF $669,163.67 IN MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH CASE

At the conclusion of a four-day jury trial in Logan, Utah, a Cache County jury found in favor of Peck Baxter client who was driving a school bus when he was rear-ended by a negligent driver in Lewiston, Utah. The jury awarded past economic damages of $168,550.67, future economic damages of $198,213.00, and non-economic damages of $302,400.00. The total excess verdict was $669,163.67.

The plaintiff was represented by Brandon J. Baxter and Loren K. Peck.

JURY VERDICT OF $680,200 + ATTORNEY FEES

At the conclusion of a 3-day jury trial in Provo, Utah, a jury found in favor of Peck Baxter clients in a case stemming from forcible detainer, conversion and civil conspiracy. The jury’s verdict resulted in a judgment in favor of the Plaintiffs of $680,200 and included punitive damages. The Judge later awarded $67,066.16 in attorney fees in favor of the Plaintiffs, for a total judgment of $747,266.16. The Plaintiffs were represented by Loren K. Peck.
