Federal appellate court keeps Idaho jail death case on track for trial

The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit located in San denied the Defendants’ request Francisco in Van Orden v Caribou County to avoid a trial on civil rights and wrongful death claims stemming from the death of Crystal Bannister while she was incarcerated in the Caribou County, Idaho jail. For the second time, this case was sent back to the United States District Court in Pocatello, Idaho for trial.
